Oils have long been used to treat, nourish and moisturise our skin. This long, deep history takes us back to ancient Egypt where oils can be found 4500 B.C.E. Since our creation, skin has been natures barrier to the external world, it’s a soft wall that keeps our internal body safe - far beyond a physical level.

Our skin bears the winter cold, magically heals from cuts and grazes and soaks up the warm summer rays. Gifts us with the sense of touch,  allowing us to explore the wonders of the world around us - summer flowers, trees and spring water, soft woollen jumpers and the gentleness of a grandmothers wise hand.

Lost in mass production and consumerism we seem to have forgotten about the magic of using Olive, Argan, Rosehip, Jojoba and other oils to support our skin. Now as we’re beginning to turn back to our wild roots, we’re being reconnecting with our older ways, once again looking to these natural substances for support and nourishment for the largest organ of our human form.

Working with our skin, not against it, oils create a moisturising and protective layer that keeps us hydrated. Dry and broken skin can often come from not enough oil (sebum) in the skin and oily skin can sometimes occur when we’re producing too much, blocking our pores and commonly leaving us feeling ‘greasy’.

Honouring these oils, our body and face oils use only the purest ingredients which are organic and locally sourced where possible. Facial oils such as Oenone and Titania contain thoughtfully chosen ingredients such as Rose, Yarrow, Hawthorn and Calendula which aid in the nourishment from consciously sourced carriers Jojoba Oil, Rosehip and Caster Seed oil amongst others. Body oils, Aisling and Flora, use cold pressed olive oil of jojoba oil as a base for infused with plants such as mugwort, violet and rose.

Oils are used in a different way to creams and balms, misapplication is why many people miss the magic of these botanical blends. Our infused oil offerings are best applied to clean, damp skin so they can be absorbed rather than sitting on the top. We find after cleansing or bathing to be best.

Depending on your skin type and the climate you call home you’ll need between 4 - 10 drops for your face and between 10 - 20 for your body, a little goes along way with these sacred blends. Before using oils in your daily rituals we’d always advise doing some research into what works best for your skin type, especially if you’re sensitive, prone to acne or have any other skin issues.
